Workshop on Professional Work Ethics

Oct 22, 2012 by

A couple of weeks ago, I had the honor to be invited by the Iloilo City Hall Human Resources Office to conduct a seminar on work ethics and personality development. I had about a month to prepare for it when I got the call from Mrs. Elsa Espejo – not a bad time to put together my materials and work out a split session of 60 participants. I liked the idea of giving a seminar-workshop to government employees because I feel I am contributing to the improvement of the services of the government to its stakeholders. I was excited to share my knowledge on excellent clientele relations, professional work ethics and deportment.

The two-day workshop was filled with so much fun and collaborative learning. Regardless of age, everyone had to go through a series of reinforcements particularly on having a clear understanding of their individual functions as professionals. I had a great time watching their output presentations on customer relations simulation, emblem design, handling telephone calls, simulations on office decorum and professional dress codes and deportment. It was an energetic workshop with eager participants whom I felt had a fun time with me as their trainer too.

I am looking forward to getting positive feedbacks after this brief workshop, but the training of the other Iloilo City Hall staff (we only covered 60 for this first wave of training) will be given early next year. Workshops like this are geared towards better service to the Ilonggo community who have official government transactions at the Iloilo City Hall. Special thanks to Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog for being so determined in making Iloilo City a Premier City by 2015 and with our cooperation and help, this is not at all impossible. Things are taking shape now and we will all benefit from the rewards of all this hard work. Proud to be Ilonggo!
