Damires Hills: A Perfect Escape from the Urban Jungle

Jun 27, 2011 by

It feels good to know that adventurous ilonggos don’t need to travel to other islands just to enjoy inland resorts and out of town getaways.

The province of Iloilo can now boast of its increasing number of resorts and adventure parks.

Despite the bad weather last week, my family and I traverse the slippery highway to Damires Hills, in Brgy. Damires, Janiuay Iloilo. The town of Janiuay is about 34 kilometers from Iloilo city. Fortunately, it hardly rained in that part of Iloilo. Thus, we were able to enjoy what the resort had to offer its giddy guests.

As the famous adage goes: “Love is lovelier the second time around“. Well, I can almost say the same thing about my second time at Damires Hills. I fell in love with the place again. Cheesy as it may sound, but man, you got to see the place yourself.

I first went there in 2010, just a few months after they opened the resort to the public. That time, they only had the swimming pool, some open-air cottages and huts, and the main building. But this time around, they have additional amenities like overnight cottages, a big function hall, and a zip-line adventure. They also serve food and beverages if you don’t want to bring your own food. Apart from that, they have freshly picked organic vegetables and fruits.

Damires Hills is a perfect sanctuary if you want to recharge and free yourself from urban life stressors.

Here are some photos and some useful info you might need in case you want to visit Damires Hills anytime soon.
